If you like the small-town life but aren't ready to give up the advantages of living in a big city, consider moving to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Equidistant from Washington, DC and Atlanta, Georgia, the rolling hills of Chapel Hill offer two big-city options. In town, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) is probably the most notable member of the community. First established in 1789, it is the nation's oldest public university. As the base for the UNC Tar Heels athletic program, UNC provides some real excitement. The basketball program alone has produced such notables as Michael Jordan, James Worthy, and Vince Carter! If college sports aren't your thing, you can entertain yourself at the Chapel Hill Museum, the IMAX theatre, or Playmakers Repertory Company, which was recently named one of America's leading theatre companies by American Theater Magazine. There are also more than two dozen golf courses and 29 state parks in the surrounding area to stay active. But my favorite thing about Chapel Hill is the variety and quality of its cuisine. Indulge in Italian, Southeast Asian, and New American. My favorite restaurant, Fearrington House, is just south of town! For a small town, Chapel Hill is pretty cosmopolitan. Whether you're into the performing arts, sports, or food, Chapel Hill has something world-class for you to cheer about. See our 3 Jobs in Chapel Hill, North Carolina Websites for this CityGovernment:
