Coral Springs, Florida

The city of Coral Springs is located in southern Florida, 18 miles (29 kilometers) northwest of Fort Lauderdale and 16 miles (26 kilometers) southwest of Boca Raton. It is part of Broward County, and home to 117,549 residents.

The city was established by Westinghouse in 1963, and named for its natural spring water. The first structure ever built in Coral Springs is a 40-foot (12-meter) covered bridge, which remains a well-known local landmark. Want to know more about the city's past? Coral Springs also has quite an artistic side. The Coral Springs Museum of Art offers a great collection of works by Florida artists, along with touring exhibits, art classes, and an artist in residence program. Coral Springs makes a wonderful starting point for exploring all the attractions of the Greater Fort Lauderdale area. The region includes an incredible 23 miles (37 kilometers) of palm-fringed beaches, including Hollywood/Hallandale, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Palm Beach, and many more.
