Dover is located in the southeast corner of New Hampshire, between the Cochecho and Bellamy rivers. The city is situated 12 miles (19 kilometers) northwest of coastal Portsmouth and 38 miles (61 kilometers) east of Concord. Dover is the seat of Strafford County, and is home to 26,884 people.
