Glendale, Arizona

Located on the western edge of Phoenix, Glendale is a well-situated, only 20 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Glendale, Arizona's fourth largest city, has been shaped into an eclectic community with a variety of attractions, including the famous downtown shopping district, which is separated into two distinctly enchanting sections: Historic Catlin Court and Old Towne (which leads the way to the famous antique stores).

Glendale is host to festivals and special events, such as the Glendale Jazz and Blues festival held in the spring, and the Sweet Onion Festival in May.

Check out the events held at Glendale Civic Center, which is located in the heart of historic downtown. This facility is the largest of its kind in the west valley, with their grand ballroom holding up to 1,300 people in comfort.

If you love sports, you can enjoy the many facilities Glendale has to offer. And you can enjoy not only sports, but concerts at the Glendale Arena. But speaking of sports, Glendale is already home to the Phoenix Coyotes, while the new home of the NFL's Cardinals is scheduled to open for the 2006 season. And a few miles from the city you'll find the spring training sites of several MLB teams, and regular-season home games of the Diamondbacks and the Suns.

From the desert to the mountains, you can always rely on a perfectly warm, sunny day – more than 300 days worth! Whether you are sightseeing, playing golf, or simply relaxing by a sparkling swimming pool, you can be guaranteed perfect weather. With an average daily high of 85F (29C) all year round, there are no excuses for not getting out! If you are an outdoor and athletic enthusiast, this is the place for you! There are several parks to enjoy, such as Thunderbird Conservation Park is located on the edge of the community, and welcomes hikers and bikers of all aptitudes. You can enjoy the view from the top, which include the beautiful Arrowhead Ranch, a community of homes, parks, and lakes that are knock-out gorgeous!

And at the end of the day, whether you've been outdoors or shopping, I'd recommend that you indulge in some tasty evening fun at the Bell Road Corridor to select from a collection of rave restaurants!

People of all ages can enjoy the great weather and environment of this peaceful city in Arizona.
