Dr. Bernard earned a BScOT and and practiced as an occupational therapist for six years before returning to McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario, for medical school in 1994. She graduated from McMaster in 1997 and completed a family medicine residency at University of Toronto in 1999. She also completed a three-month low-risk obstetrics fellowship in October 1999. Dr. Bernard has been working in family medicine in Brampton, Ontario, for the last five years, and is on staff at the William Osler Health Centre.
