Alberta Cancer Board Services
The Alberta Cancer Board is the Provincial Health
Authority operating cancer facilities and programs
in Alberta. Services include: cancer prevention,
early detection, diagnosis, treatment , research
, education and coordination, in cooperation with
others, of the planning, development and delivery
of provincial cancer initiatives.
The Alberta
Cancer Board provides a full range of treatment services
and programs at our two major centres: the Cross
Cancer Institute in Edmonton and the Tom Baker Cancer
Centre in Calgary. We also have four associate cancer
centres in Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat
and Red Deer and 11 community cancer centres throughout
the province.
Bringing Radiation Therapy Closer
to home.
We’re excited to announce redevelopment
and expansion plans in Lethbridge, Red Deer and Grande
Prairie. With the expected operations of the Lethbridge
Cancer Centre by April 2010, up to 80% of patients
in the catchments area will be able to receive treatment
closer to home.
