ABOUT MOFFITT Since
opening its doors in 1986, The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer
Center & Research Institute has remained true
to its mission of preventing and finding a cure to
cancer. Our talented team works tirelessly in the
areas of patient care, research and education to
advance one step further in fighting this disease.
As a result, Moffitt was recognized by the U.S. News
& World Report as one of best hospitals for the
treatment of cancer in the country in 2005 (Ranked
#13), and again in 2006 (Ranked #11). This accomplishment
is a direct reflection of the Moffitt physicians,
scientists and staff members who have worked hand-in-hand
to create a unique atmosphere that can only be characterized
by kindness, caring and hope.
Located on the grounds of the University of South
Florida (Tampa), Moffitt Cancer Center is a not for-profit
institution. It includes private patient rooms, the
Southeast?s largest Blood and Marrow Transplant Program,
outpatient treatment programs that record more than
135,000 visits a year, the Moffitt Research Center,
The Moffitt Clinic at Tampa General Hospital, and
the Lifetime Cancer Screening Center. With the opening
of our new Moffitt Clinic and Vincent A. Stabile
Research Building, in 2003, we have dramatically
increased our existing research and outpatient clinical
space to better serve our patients.
CAREERS AT MOFFITT As a talented and compassionate
medical professional, you know you could take your
skills virtually anywhere. But there is one thing
that is evident from the moment you enter our institution--careers
mean more here! While our facilities, research and
technologies are impressive, it's the dedication
of our team that sets us apart. Our team does not
come to work day-to-day just to work. Instead, they
are working to find a cure for cancer. They interact
with those that they heal, and measure their career
satisfaction by the number of "thank you's" they
receive from patients and their loved ones.
