Kadlec Medical Center

Kadlec Medical Center is a progressive 188-bed, nationally recognized, locally-governed, not for profit regional medical center. Kadlec is the premiere choice for customer service excellence, and is a member of the prestigious Planetree organization (www.planetree.org). (Planetree is about human beings caring for and serving other human beings. This involves not only the provision of nurturing, compassionate, personalized care to patients and families, but just as important, how staff cares for themselves and each other; and how organizations create cultures which support and nurture their staff). Kadlec is the regional referral center for southeastern Washington and northeastern Oregon, providing healthcare to the region by combining cutting-edge technology and equipment, with evidence-based, patient-focused care. Our very progressive programs and services include: Open Heart Surgery; Interventional Cardiology; Nationally-Recognized Neonatal Intensive Care; Neurosurgery; The first hospital in the Pacific Northwest to achieve designation as a Certified Chest Pain Center; Bloodless Medicine & Surgery Program; Nationally Accredited & Recognized Diabetes Learning Center; Wound Care/Coumadin Clinic; Nationally Accredited Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation Program; 24-hour Rapid Response, Stroke, & Trauma Teams; 24-hour Intensivist, Hospitalist & Pediatric Hospitalist Coverage (In-House); All-Digitalized (PACS) Diagnostic Imaging; Medication Scanning; Advanced Breast Care Center; and an award-winning Emergency Department.

In addition to following the Planetree model, Kadlec Medical Center supports a strong vision to be the region’s medical center of choice for patients, physicians and employees. We support our vision by demonstrating the core beliefs of respect, integrity, and cooperation. Our environment is very collaborative, and we use a team approach to care. Management is very supportive, and we are very lucky in the fact that if there is something available to make patient care (or our work environment) easier we usually have it, or have the ability to get it within a short period of time. We have a lot of autonomy, great teamwork, and extraordinary leadership. We are very progressive and are always striving to improve customer service. We provide a great opportunity for autonomy, growth, advanced practice, and leadership. Staff has the opportunity to participate in Performance Improvement initiatives which drives change in the departments. We want our processes to be personable and comforting to our patients and our employees. We want to be different—to provide a higher level of care.

Community

Located in sunny, southeastern Washington state, nestled among three beautiful rivers, in the heart of Washington Wine Country, the Tri-Cities enjoys over 308 days of sunshine annually, an abundance of water recreation, excellent education and sports programs, rich scientific, technological, and agricultural industries, and world-class wineries (150 wineries within a 50 mile radius). Our semi-desert area has low humidity and mild seasonal weather. We have very little snow in the winter and almost year-round outdoor recreation such as golf, fishing, and cycling. Water lovers come from all over the region to enjoy power and pleasure boating, waterskiing, sailing, and windsurfing. For the sports lover, the Tri-Cities boasts the following professional sports teams: Tri-City Americans WHL ice hockey; Tri-City Dust Devils (a professional affiliate of the Colorado Rockies), and the Tri-Cities Fever (a member of the Arena Football 2 League). In addition, we are just hours away from great skiing, Seattle and the Puget Sound, Spokane, Portland, and the beautiful Pacific Ocean coast. The Tri-Cities growing population of 225,000 offers a multitude of services, yet very little traffic so the commutes to work are short and hassle-free. One of the special features of our community is its character of being very family-oriented and welcoming, along with having a very high level of education (we rank among the Top 10 high technology communities in the nation by Milken Institute). Also, electric costs in the Tri-Cities are among the lowest in the nation, and Washington State has no state income tax!!!
