Description: The salary starts at $37.47 per hour (approximately $73,067 per annum), plus a northern allowance of $3,928.
The Tlicho Community Services Agency administers all regional health and social services delivered to a population of approximately 2,800 residents of the Dogrib region through 3 Community Health Centers and 1 Community Health Station as well as the residents of the Jimmy Erasmus Seniors Home. The Tlicho Community Services Agency provides and supports the delivery of health care services to adults and children on an outpatient and outreach basis in order to enhance healthy communities' well being through excellence, accountability and respect for regional diversity.
Located within Rae-Edzo and reporting directly to the Manager Health Programs, the incumbent is one of two Dental Therapists in Behchoko (Rae-Edzo) who independently provides clinical intra-oral restorative and preventative dental treatment to school age children (Grades K-12) within Behchoko, WhaTi, Wekweti and Gameti. The Dental Therapist provides emergency periodontal treatment to adults and develops and delivers community based oral health promotion and educational activities to individuals or groups within various schools. The Dental Therapist develops oral health promotion material and activities to be delivered in partnership with a Community Health Nurse within the Community Health Centre.
The level of knowledge is typically acquired through the successful completion of a Diploma in Dental Therapy. Must be licensed with the NWT Professional Registrar.
