Description: Fantastic Coastal Carolina Opportunity for BC/BP EM(ABEM/AOBEM) physicians. Seeking a Medical Director and Staff physicians.
EmCare is pleased to announce its association with Albemarle Hospital. We are seeking a team of board certified Emergency Medicine physicians as we begin staffing November 1, 2008. Albemarle Health is northeastern North Carolina's premier healthcare provider, serving a seven-county region of more than 130,000 year round residents.

The beaches of the Outer Banks bring an estimated 7 million visitors to the region each year. The hospital's service area includes Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Pasquotank, and Perquimans counties. Albemarle Hospital is located in Elizabeth City, in Pasquotank County, the region's economic hub. Albemarle Hospital continues to be a major healthcare provider to the region offering the region state-of-the-art healthcare usually not seen in similarly sized community hospital. The medical staff includes more than 100 physicians, representing nearly 30 specialties.

The Emergency Department features
• 33,000 annually visits representing a broad patient pathology that includes internal medicine, cardiac/pulmonary, peds, Ob/Gyn, surgery, and trauma which is primarily blunt with a small penetrating trauma component
• 17-bed department laid out in an efficient "H"-shaped configuration with central nurses station;
• New 38,000 sq ft ED slated to open in the fall of 2008. The Emergency Department will house 34 bays and expansion will include holding/observation unit
• Automated charting via T System with supplemental note capability
• Active EMS program with in-house medical director provides direction and training services for a 7-county region
• Respected, high-quality nursing staff
• Emergency physicians do not write admitting orders
• Fast Track- staffed by a dedicated MLP provider 7 days a week
