Some surgeons have founded companies around new medical devices and many are experienced in obtaining patents. With this level of experience and having a nationally recognized Minimally Invasive Surgery Program, the Department of Surgery provides strong foundation for MUBIP. The Biodesign & Innovation Fellowship is for engineers who have interest in a career developing new medical technologies. Engineers who have completed a master's program or equivalent work experience are qualified and encouraged to apply.
