Position Summary:

Responsible for the facilities risk management activities, which include coordinating insurance coverage and risk financing, managing claims against the campus, interfacing with defense legal counsel, administering the risk management program, managing and analyzing data, conducting risk management standards and managing the regulatory compliance program, all with the objective of controlling and minimizing loss to protect the assets of the facility. This position reviews, formulates and implements policies and organizational changes, working through hospital committee and the CEO.

II. Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification in Risk Management or professional license required.

B. Education: B.A./B.S. required. RN preferred.

C. Experience: Diversified background and experience in a healthcare facility. Two (2) years experience in Risk Management.

D. Special qualifications: Good interpersonal skills; knowledge of PC based software; good communication skills, both oral and written; and an ability to understand and interpret complex data.


III. Degree of Supervision Required: Minimal guidance and direction by Department Director and CEO. Independently performs job duties. Maintains performance in accordance with established Departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
