Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Health, the incumbent provides public health inspection services, monitoring, evaluation, consultation, education in an assigned area as well as special projects; provides coverage for other environmental health team members in their absence; works with local governments and other partner agencies on environmental health related issues.

To qualify you will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Certification with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors
• Degree in Environmental Health
• Several years of experience working as a public health inspector or equivalent
• Understanding of current northern aboriginal health issues and experience working in a cross-cultural context
• Knowledge of the principles of environmental health and application, interpretation and administration of appropriate legislation under the Public Health Act
• Ability to travel by air and gravel roads to outlying communities including overnight stays
• Consideration may be given to qualified candidates who may be able to be appointed through a provision in The Public Health Act

Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. Salary and benefits in accordance with the SAHO/Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan Collective Agreement governing the position and corresponding to education and previous experience. Hours of work are 224/6 weeks (field hours).
