Employment Opportunity for a Podiatrist Permanent Full Time The Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region is recognized as a national leader in integrated health care. We have more than 8,500 employees at different locations across the Region who work together to provide a full range of health care services for the residents of Southern Saskatchewan. An exciting opportunity exists for a Podiatrist to provide services to the residents of the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region. The service spans acute and chronic care, with opportunities to play a leadership role in delivering coordinated regional services to residents with diabetes. As a member of an integrated team operating out of a clinic situated in the City of Regina and serving one or more rural satellite clinics, the podiatrist: • diagnosis and treats foot disorders • works with a multi-professional team to provide foot care to residents with diabetes • provides foot care information and education to clients in the clinical setting • provides education about foot health to residents of the RQHR in a group setting • provides foot care training to front line service providers The successful applicant will have: • a Doctorate or Diploma in Podiatric Medicine or Diploma in Chiropody with accompanying certificate in the administration of local anesthetics, minor skin and nail surgery • eligibility for membership with the Saskatchewan College of Podiatrist • experience working in a variety of clinical settings, ranging from general podiatry services to working with a multi-professional team in the prevention and treatment of diabetic foot complications • excellent knowledge of biomechanics • good interpersonal skills • demonstrated ability to work in a team setting • demonstrated ability to teach, based on principals of adult learning Experience providing services to First Nations or Metis communities would be an asset.
