Our L&D unit has 12 rooms and two operating suites for LDR, high-risk antepartum/postpartum and critical care obstetric patients. Our numbers are impressive, delivering over 2,500 babies each year. And, raising our stature even more, for the past three years, Vanderbilt University Medical Center has become a national leader in utero surgery for spina bifida. Our staff consists of a variety of healthcare professions, including Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists and Certified Nurse Midwives. As Labor & Delivery Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring the well-being of both mothers and babies in a fast-paced environment. We will rely on you to: - Define standards for quality patient care, and motivate your team to achieve performance goals - Supervise daily activities and unit-based work teams - Develop, evaluate and mentor staff members - Maintain fiscal accountability and ensure budget expectations are met - Demonstrate a commitment to excellence that serves as an example to staff members Qualified candidates must have: - Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN); MSN preferred - Valid Tennessee RN licensure - Minimum 5 years' clinical nursing experience - At least 2 years' management experience within a Women's Health setting (Labor & Delivery experience highly desirable) - Excellent leadership, interpersonal, prioritizing and communication skills Background screens will be performed and education will be verified before employment. Salary is dependent upon education and experience.
