The Department of Health and Social Services is recruiting for a:

Quality Improvement and Training Coordinator
Community Nursing
Competition No.: 08-ST17-12
Closing Date: 5:00 p.m.: November 7, 2008
Salary: $69,923 to $80,836 per annum

Community Nursing is committed to excellence in the provision of health care. As Quality Improvement & Training Coordinator you will focus on developing and implementing training programs, preceptoring, mentoring and assisting with the professional development of Community Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Practitioners in Charge throughout the territory. Duties include providing primary health services, emergency services, assisting with the planning, developing, implementation and evaluation of public health/education programs, assessing competency levels and developing training plans.

As the ideal candidate, you will have considerable recent experience in the delivery of community health and treatment services in an expanded role in a cross-cultural environment. Experience providing leadership, mentoring, preceptoring, and supervision is essential.

- A Baccalaureate in Nursing recognized in Canada AND a Certificate in Northern Clinical Program, Outpost
Nursing Program, OR recognized equivalent.
- Experience providing leadership
- Experience in mentoring, preceptoring, and supervision is essential.
- Significant experience working in an expanded role

Condition(s) of Employment: Current Yukon RN registration; security clearance; medical clearance; valid Class 5 driver's license, CPR Certificate HCP Level.

A one-year eligibility list will be established from this competition to fill future vacancies for identical positions and may also be used for similar positions within the department.
